Land of the Blind: Days 15-17We didn't leave the shed to eat breakfast. I was still afraid that the second dog was out there, and that now it had a vendetta against me. The first dog, the one I had stabbed, I didn't think could have made it. I couldn't smell anything rotten nearby so I guessed that it had hobbled outside before dying. Anish was there, but we weren't talking to one another. I changed his bandage and he poured me some granola in a bowl from his tin mess kit. Land of the Blind: Days 9-10"Give me the onions and the peppers, I can help cut things up. It'll make everything go faster." I held out my hands in front of Anish, opening and closing my fingers. He hesitated, then took my hand to his temple and shook his head "no." "Oh, come on, just because I'm blind you won't trust me with a knife? I can cut a vegetable by feel just fine. Besides, when did a little blood in your food ever hurt anyone?" I smiled, but Anish shook his head vigorously. He took my hand away from me and folded my arms in front of my chest firmly, as if to put them out of harm's way.Land of the Blind: Days 9-10
